It’s said that long ago (and maybe even as recently as yesterday), when a common person wished for divine revelations from Hermes, they would go to the market. They would carry their question in their head and wait until some passerby uttered a word or phrase. They would take these words to be the answer to their question, and they would make an offering of thanks to Hermes, god of the marketplace.
Depending on health and money, this may not be an easy divination to make use of. Hermes, however, is a god of many things, chief among them being communication…and is there any means of communicating so swift and sure as the internet?
In honor of Hermes, then: a Bluesky-based divination method.
- Clean your computer/phone. Respect your divination tool.
- Touch three fingers to your mouth, then to the screen. Ask Hermes to open the lines of communication between you and grant an answer to your question.
- Make sure your Bluesky feed is set to Discover.
- Refresh your screen three times.
- The skeet at the top of the list is the answer to your question.
Remember to make an offering of thanks to Hermes, such as by picking a random person in need to send money to via CashApp, or by leaving some change along a place where people walk. Trust that the money will go where it would best serve Hermes.
